Unfortunately, not just what you say but how it's said. Ironically that mimics the same problem being discussed at least in part here with the coaches. It's not just the intent behind what is said, but the delivery also matters...whether you're speaking as a parent, a missionary, a teacher, a boss, or head coach.

But so that I am not mistakenly viewed as being unduly critical, I'll reiterate that there were some points he made that were worthwhile and deserving of a respectful conversation.
