A Shot of Blue Kool-Aid
1. The offense should be at least as good as last year. This will be the best O-line in at least 4 years. If TH4 stays healthy anything's possible. Having Jamaal out stings but Algie and Hine are both capable replacements if they stay healthy.

2. The defense should be much better. I think they will still struggle at times but I don't think they will be giving away games like they did last year. The main thing is that I don't think we'll have to score 40+ in every single game just to feel like we have a chance. Another thing that I think this year that I didn't think last year is that the defense will be good enough to keep us in almost every game.

3. This year's team should be much more disciplined than last year's team. Hopefully less mental mistakes will translate to fewer penalties and fewer episodes of self-sabotage. In addition to being better conditioned and healthier coming out of fall camp, I think Wintrich's greatest contribution might be in instilling greater mental strength into the team. Hopefully they won't roll over after losing a game and go into a 4 game slide like last year. I believe this team will be more resilient.

4. I love Bronco the person but last year I became disillusioned with Bronco the coach. One thing I will give him credit for is that each year he seems to try to make adjustments to learn from last year's mistakes. Fingers crossed that this is the year that everything comes together for him. While I think that he makes decisions that hurt the program, I ultimately think that he is a great guy. I would love to see him do really well this year.

This is the most important year for BYU since going Independent. If they win 9+ games they will change a lot of minds about the state of the program and the viability of Independence as a whole. The BYU fan base is a sleeping giant right now and the last 4 years have been a giant-sized ambien. It's time to wake up the beast by having the best season of the decade so far.

Even if we don't get a B12 invite, the general outlook of the program will be much brighter if this season can bring in at least 2 wins against Nebraska, UCLA, Michigan, or Missouri without losing to any MWC teams. 9+ wins will breath new life into BYU football. I hope it happens. Here's to a fun season.
