You're right.
With the reverse 8% math, I had BYU at about $75M total. (If BYU gets about $6 million from ESPN, then it's 8% of $75M)
But whether $60M or $75M total - $15M more per year would allow for more player benefits, much higher coaching salaries, and better recruiting budgets.
