BYU fans and staff pretty consistently claim BYU athletics are necessary to represent the church, the resurrected savior and his teachings as a missionary tool but then won't punish guys for sucker punching someone who is being restrained. It seems like BYU is very strict in enforcing the HC which I am totally fine with. You sign a contract stating enrollment is contingent on behavior then you should expect enforcement. But they choose to selectively enforce generally accepted decency. When a Utah player does boneheaded things I expect him or her to be punished. I wanted Domo off the team. The reason BYU gets extra scrutiny is because it demands it. This is clearly a dodge. If the scrutiny itself is punishment enough then don't suspend anyone at any time. If you wait until after your first game then you clearly believe suspension is warranted you're just waiting until a more advantageous moment. That looks really bad. It's poor form and insulting to everyone's intelligence to expect them to buy into that logic.
