I agree, that's a problem. The rub from my perspective is the teachers are
with them on a daily basis during the educational rigors. Though I agree that teachers should not be diagnosing, it would have been really helpful if my son's teachers had've had training to spot some of the signs, pass something along to the counselor, and the counselor simply provided us with info on it, along with possible next steps. It felt like we were fending for ourselves, unsure what the next steps would be, and paranoid that we were the only ones that noticed.
