Read this and tell me if wins/losses are a good indicator of pitching performanc

Miller has gone 0-11 with a 3.13 ERA during his 19-start winless streak that dates back to May 23. Twelve times during this span, the All-Star hurler has allowed two earned runs or less.

Unfortunately, the Braves have provided two runs or less of support in all but five of those 19 games. And to make matters worse, Monday marked the ninth time during this span that the Braves provided zero runs of support.

Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell recently gave Miller a book that stresses the importance to place the value of specific performances over some of the archaic stats that are still utilized, like a pitcher's won-loss record.

There's a reason McDowell refers to it as an archaic stat. It just is not a good indicator of a pitcher's efficacy. Shelby Miller has been outstanding this year but he can't buy a run!!

He would be an all-star an any team this year but he's stuck on the AAAtlanta Braves with zero run support.

Win/loss record means nothing nowadays.
