I'm considering taking a job in Oakland that would mean a bunch of long-time Utahns would be relocating. My wife and I both have lived out of Utah before, but not with kids. Not sure where the best areas are to raise four children. I've read that Oakland and some other areas have a bad rap with gangs, etc. What has been your experience? How are the schools? What is the best way to approach their housing market? Pros/cons and any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.
