Upping the min. wage isn't necessarily a bad idea as long as it is done LOCALLY
The problem comes when the FEDERAL government raises the minimum wage for EVERYONE.
As Obamacare has painfully shown, LOCAL markets are DIFFERENT, and the SAME market floors/ceilings shouldn't apply to ALL cities and states.
Keeping minimum wage regulations primarily at the LOCAL level promotes competition among states and localities, as it SHOULD be.
