Honestly, I'd add two teams to go to 32 and then divide to 8, 4-team divisions
All four division champs go to the playoffs. No wildcard. Problem solved.
I know that people think they have too many teams already, but I think this works best. Add a team in Montreal and another perhaps in San Antonio.
