Certainly there are things that could be changed in order for BYU to be more successful on offense. At the beginning of the season, I was anxious to see what Nate Carter could do, but after 5 games I've seen enough of his role as a between the tackles runner to know that it doesn't work. He should be getting runs to the outside where he has some space to move, or he might even do well getting some passes on a flare or wheel route. His role as a between the tackles runner should be minimized. especially when it only gets us 1.8 ypc.
So I agree that some changes could be made with scheme, and it would be nice to see some trick plays every once in a while. Yes, the potential is there to do better, but I think all things considered( injuries, depth, etc.) we're doing a pretty good job.
