Oh and I took a practice management course from Sandy Pardue in New Orleans.
That was a great course. I went with my office manager and my wife (she does the books for my office). Sandy has a great approach that I like. Not too pushy or too sales-like. I don't want to be overly aggressive or solely concerned with money. A wonderful old-school dentist who I admire a ton told me something as I started dental school that I loved. He said don't worry about the money. Treat your patients like family and the money will follow. Sandy follows that line of thinking and helps you set up systems to help increase efficiency and collections. I'm not a fan of the Scheduling Institute or Productive Dental Academy where they are solely focused on profit. I'm in this for the long haul and get a lot of satisfaction from my job. I couldn't see myself doing the aggressive style for more than a few years without burning out. To each his own, but that style is not for me.
