STEM is so overblown
The STEM push is so misguided.
1) Not everyone has a mind for math
2) There are lots of non-STEM degrees that are very useful
3) There are lots of STEM degrees that have no better career path than art history. Try getting a job as a civil engineer or geologist today.
4) Most graduated don't work in careers directly related to their majors
5) Very few people stay in the same career their entire adult lives
6) STEM majors often need grad degrees to get a career, just like humanities and social science majors
7) We will quickly have a glut of scientists and engineers
8) We don't need to force everyone into the same narrow niche
