Sellouts don't come from students. They come from an all around culture of
community and supporting a team through thick and thin. BYU's fans are too fickle to develop this type of culture. We are to focused on how it will benefit us individually. If we don't like a coach or player we decide not to be supportive. We are not true fans as a whole.

I also believe if it weren't for LDS fans with alliances to UofU and USU etc tearing down BYU whenever they can that BYU would be more like Notre Dame, a flagship school representing their church (it is viewed this way to a large extent outside of the church but not from our own members). The community would start around the Church and draw others in. For some reason Ute and Aggie fans think BYU being successful will detract from their programs. And too many BYU fans give them a reason to hate us. We all need to grow up and we would all benefit together.
