the "I was there" sensation is important
we have to win at home, and beat good teams to make that happen.

my daughter has been to lots of BYU games growing up, but her first game as a BYU freshman was this year against BSU. they were a very respected opponent, the stadium had a lot of energy (so I hear) and we won in dramatic fashion. That was all she could tweet about for 3 days. If other kids have the same experiences, that's how you create fans for life. But it's got to happen consistently over years to build up the history and thought process that "I have to be there, or I'm going to miss something memorable."
