Church President Thomas S. Monson is a Ute, Kyle Whittingham is a Mormon and a Ute, Many of Utah's best players are Mormons, two of the new members of the quorum of the 12 are Utes, Pres. Uchtdorf and other GAs frequently attend U games and visit with U players and coaches, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is going to sing the Utah fight song on ESPN's Gameday.

Heck, Brigham Young freaking founded the dang school.

Clearly, the church has major ties to the University of Utah and its athletic program. And I would argue that the church is trying especially hard now to strengthen those ties.

Therefore, I am going to embrace the church's actions, embrace the University of Utah as a church school, and thereby troll the great number of anti-LDS Utes with great fervor.

Whenever the Utes win, I, as a proud Mormon, will congratulate them heartily and thank them for creating all kinds of exposure for the Mormon church. When things like Gameday happen, I am going to cheer for the church and postulate on how many people contacted the missionaries as a result. Whenever Utah beats BYU and U fans try to rub it in my face, I'll reply with "The REAL winner here is Joseph Smith!"

I really hope the church reaches out to the U of U even more than they already are. I hope the church reaches out to them so much and so often that the U is forced to play their hand and either denounce the church or embrace it.
