He was definitely comparing the two.
And he was mocking Blackmon. His comment was funny - but you are mistaken if you think he wasn't comparing the two. He may have been exaggerating, but you have no way to know that.
If he wasn't thinking Blackmon was making that comparison then why on earth would he say "next time I'm comparing..."
