I am not excusing anything. I am just explaining what I think is going on.
Football has many, many nuances. It takes many reps at the college level before you really get it.
Athletes regress all the time. Like anything else, there are ups and downs and being new at something makes performance even less predictable. As naturally skilled Tanner is, there are going to be ups and downs.
