Notre Dame will get in off of SOS. Right now Baylor and TCU have terrible SOS's.

Rise Against Playmaker

Having a CCG will improve that SOS and give the "wow" factor to the voters at the end of the season right when it matters most. If Notre Dame can beat Stanford and leap frog someone like Baylor, it will make the Big12 seek change.

How does ND winning help expand the B12- I think it makes it less likely they expand

Okay but doesn't it also mean that if B12 increases its schedule strength that that's just as good?

Yes. All a CCG does is improve strength of schedule. Merely having a CCG is not

Stanford sneaking into the playoff would also make Utah in the Vegas Bowl a lot less likely as Oregon would then be in
