There is a VERY good reason BYU built infrastructure to broadcast their own games. From the new broadcast building to Independence to BYUTV, they are in a great position to go it alone. I'm not saying that irrevocably we pull that trigger right now, but things are set if it comes to that.

That is one reason I have been lukewarm about joining a conference--any conference. OK, but I think we need to look down the pike a bit. It would be great for the next 2 or 3 years, but after that? I know, there is the argument that being in a BC$ conference helps us with any landing we get and that it improves recruiting, etc. I think those are viable arguments. They may not actually eventually be valid issues in this situation, but the arguments themselves are indeed valid.

But they are predicated upon things staying basically the same. That is the underlying premise. Predicting the future is often very dangerous, but I am not at all convinced that things will stay essentially the same. Maybe I am wrong. But I would bet against it.
