Oregon tried to go with their starting qb Adams who was suffering from a hand injury in a previous game. After it was apparent he couldn't go and would be ineffective because of a broken bone in his hand they changed QBs. The backup quarterback was awful.

The result of bad play at quarterback lead to several 3 outs that gave Utah the ball back in great field position and multiple picks that lead directly to scores that took the wind out of Oregon's sails.

The score was 20-13 late in the 2nd quarter. Oregon very much in that game even with their QB play being atrocious. Oregon then had a 3 and out and back to back picks on their next 3 positions. Utah quickly turned that into 21 points and built the lead to 41-13 early in the 3rd quarter. At that point Oregon mailed it in. Utah then ran up a bunch of garbage points.

If Oregon is tied or has a lead rather than being down 20-13 and they don't have that 3 and out and those 2 picks leading to Utah scores you don't think that game could have been different? That's directly tied to poor quarterback play. It's not unrealistic to think a healthy Adams changes those 3 possessions and changes the game. Heck, he probably changes it earlier than that so they aren't down 20-13 to begin with. Very plausible.

I'm not saying they would have won. I am saying that game could have taken a much different turn right in a few minute portion of the game where a close game became a rout.

Say what is the real Utah team? The team that struggled to beat CU, Fresno, USU, Cal, Oregon State? The team that lost to a bad Arizona team, lost at home to UCLA, or got a mud hole stomped in them by USC?

Or is it the team that used a 5 minute stretch against Oregon that turned bad Oregon quarterback play into a 41-13 lead in a game that had been 20-13?

What is the outlier here? LOL. Some people are too dumb to think simple things through.
