According to Sagarin, how many of those 65 teams had a weaker schedule than BYU (schedule ranked 67th by Sagarin)?
One. Wisconsin (70), which happened to avoid Ohio St., Michigan St., and Michigan in B10 conference play this year.
There are plenty of good things to take out of this season, and plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future. But arguments about BYU playing a tough (or even solid) schedule don't hold much water.
