Try again, Jimmer didn't just have a good night vs a bunch of lame defenders
The reality is that he could always do this, and has done similar whenever given more than snipits of disjunct, "hypervigilant" playing time. He is almost impossible to scheme for, since he can score or facilitate in so many different ways. As he showed tonight, if you think all he can do is launch spot up 3's, and you scheme to take that away, he'll burn you with dribble penetration, and either score or dish, or draw fouls, as he demonstrated tonight, and has demonstrated in the past. He showed again why his magic comes out when the ball is in his hands, and he also showed how capable he is in ball handling, and creating his own shot. He also showed how the defense you play becomes irrelevant, if your team ultimately outscores the other team when you're on the court. However, his uniquely gifted skill is not his shooting prowess, but the unrecognized skill of his vision, and his rapid assessment of where players are in space, which foot they have their weight on, what they'll likely do next, and how to take advantage of that rapid assessment. He does it time and again, like a surprise, and that is why it's so fun to watch! Go Jimmer!! Prove 'em all wrong....again.
