Mangum is very accurate, to be sure. He is able to pinpoint where to put the ball and he tries to put it where his guy's chance of being the one to catch the ball is optimized. But you have to give a TON OF CREDIT to his receivers.

Most years, and with most receivers, the ball that Tanner threw to Mathews that won the Nebraska game is a pick. Same for the ball to Juergens that won the Boise State game. Against USU, the 2nd Mathews TD, the long ball to Blackmon and the fantastic catch by Henderson could have all been picks if the receivers had not made fantastic plays on the ball.

This year's receivers may not be as fast as Watkins & Collie, but they have better catch radiuses and are BETTER at winning the fight for the 50/50 balls.
