Every other power program understands that they are better off when their

Conference is strong. Alabama, USC, Ohio St, and Michigan all share revenue and all subsidize the smaller programs in their conferences. And they are all better off for it.

Texas thinks they're special. But they're worse off because of it.

They aren't being smart. They're just weakening themselves.
