We've certainly lacked any semblance of consistently effective D. But for a change, that isn't why we lost today.

Hard to say we'll never be elite whe we have been such under Rose. I do think there are at least two glaring deficiencies in his current team that worry me, even if we do get better talent. We need to be more sound on D and in the half court O.

Point guard has always been a tough position to recruit to BYU. Rose has, unquestionably, landed two of our best ever. What we lack are players with athleticism and ability to defend. And that's also been a near-constant at BYU.
