I'd love to see Taysom in an offense that runs 70 plays a game.
Taysom is a threat to the defense even without having designed run plays for him. Anae overused Taysom. Up-tempo offense without speed anywhere except for at his position was counter productive because defenses keyed in on Taysom. We saw it against Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Utah. Anae wanted to run play after play after play, all on the back of Taysom because he was such a phenomenal player. It made our offense predictable and stale, even though Taysom would occasionally make remarkable plays. It was almost like Anae was thinking, "Okay, every 20 times Taysom runs the ball, he'll take one to the house, and I'm okay with that." It feels like Taysom will have more weapons and speed around him this year than he's had while at BYU, at both the tailback and receiver positions (Jamaal, Squally, Trinnaman, Hivo). To me, this makes Taysom all the more dangerous. He will still get chunks of yards rushing, but instead of running 23 times for 110 yards, it will be like 7 rushes for 75-100 yards because the defense will be forced to focus on more than number 4. He'll get similar production with less wear and tear on his weird Thor/Achilles-like body. love me some Taysom. Stay home Taysom4.
