Yes and No. The spirit isn't going to tell you to break a commandment unless
there is a extenuating reason for it as in the case of Nephi killing Labon.
As Larry Lawrence described, there may be certain circumstances that the spirit would urge you not to allow a sleepover but that doesn't mean all sleepovers should be disallowed. Something like that doesn't have to be an all in or all out policy.
