I'm invested in a variety of places, but I'm always interested to see what else is out there. Here's where I'm currently invested:

Mutual fund account - I've got automatic investing set up here, so I invest X amount each month (the idea is dollar-cost averaging).

Scottrade - This is my speculation account. I don't put a ton of money here, but this is where I make my conviction buys. Lots of stocks are on sale right now with the recent downturn. I've been fortunate enough to do really well...it's fun, especially when you're doing well.

Motif Investing - This is a website where you can package together up to 30 stocks and buy them for one commission of $9.95. You can create these "motifs" (this is what they call the package of stocks..it's essentially a mini mutual fund) and publish them in their catalog so others can invest. You get paid a $1 royalty each time someone buys one of your motifs. It's not a lot of money, but I've made some pretty good motifs and have made a few hundred dollars off royalties alone.

Lending Club - This is peer to peer lending. Don't just jump in and start investing blindly...I did a LOT of research and fine-tuned my filter I use when I'm selecting loans to invest in. I only invest $25 per loan so I spread my exposure across many, many different loans. I've just started investing here recently, but I've enjoyed the extra monthly income.

I also contribute to my 401k/retirement accounts with each paycheck.

I've only been out of school for a couple years, so I don't have a ton of capital on hand, but I've become more and more interested in investment opportunities outside of the stock market. I feel I have an optimal amount of exposure there, so I'm looking for alternatives. Lending club has been interesting because it's a way to bring in monthly income without having to go down the capital-intensive real estate route. Where else do people invest and/or how do you bring in a passive income??
