I don't know how someone can make the jump from a recruiting dinner
to paying for spousal travel on a work trip. Students who don't get this are weird. They'd be weird regardless of the school.
However, you're right. It sets a precedent for how firms act. Every year, firms typically do an annual dinner where spouses are invited.
