One port on our cruise last month was Aruba, I was surprised how dry and barren
most of the island was. We took a quad tour with our group and went through the city and rode trails along the back side of the island. It was like riding the deserts around Las Vegas but with 20' tall cactus. Most of what we saw was desert. The beautiful white beaches in the city were amazing.
I wouldn't want to stay there for a week.
