something close to what they expect. The food is good not great but the atmosphere is fun.

Places like Franklin's, Loius Mueller or even Pecan lodge are a little much IMO for non-TX BBQ snobs. Best to build up to those places slowly.

Rudy's cream corn was significantly better than Hard Eight's sweet corn, IMO. If we are comparing chains.
