It really is weird right?
Read up on the history of the rules prohibiting adultery sometime. It's pretty interesting. Originally conceived, it was all about men not having to pay for more children (bc if your wife had a baby, you were financially responsible for it, so having a rule prohibiting adultery made sense).

I wonder if nudity and all of our related rules about sex are similar. We're the only species that believes on any level in a moral responsibility for taking care of our young, which means we've just had to view sex and sexuality differently than other species. We have had to make rules that limit sex bc otherwise our species would have too many kids that we'd have to take care of. Cats and rabbits just don't have that issue.

But of course there are also cognitive differences. Assuming that there's such a thing as a moral rule against nudity, were the only species that could possibly comprehend such a rule and, therefore, the only species that could be expected to do anything about it.

Whole thing is fascinating though. We're so over the top when it comes to this stuff. All the awesome things in the world we're encouraged to look at and appreciate, except for the human body, which we're supposed to shield our eyes from.
