RE: not just any squat, a friggin front loaded squat.
I wanted to have those on the thread witness a 550 pound front squat by a man who is the size of Taysom. Besides being a key Olympic move, front squats and overhead presses will turn most people into faster versions of themselves. The risks are low with good technique.......zero for lisfranc.

I have researched the effects of these Olympic moves with speed. The results are nearly universal; once a person has achieved a 2 times body weight with a clean and jerk, this same population was able to achieve phenomenal sprint times. In fact, most sprinters now work doing deadlifts. In short, if Taysom can maintain or even increase his power quotient as well as leaning down to 220 pounds, he would become even more dangerous....if that is possible.

The fact that he can perform so well at 230 pounds is a rare feat. All one needs to do is witness the game against Virginia played at BYU. As Hill was at the 10 yard line, he was grabbed around the yoke by a safety. I watched in amazement as the safety's arm was pulled with such force, it caused him to ultimately release his grip before his arm was ripped from the socket. Later, the same player admitted that Taysom was the best he had played against in power and speed. I would have to agree!
