I think, if anything, THAT mere fact dilutes the Big12 from inclusion...
in the playoff.
Round Robin, you play everyone. There is a chance one or both teams could have 1 loss (in conf). Even after a win, a 1 loss team would have to be more impressive than teams coming out of the other conferences.
Worst case scenario is a 1 conf loss team beats the unbeaten conf team in the championship. They would both be screwed.
At least in a 12 team conference, you have a better chance of having 2 undefeateds going against each other. By their own metrics, this decisions LESSENS their chances of getting into the playoff, IMO.
