PF sucks, be patient and consistent.
Here is what I have done.
TLDR: get good shoe inserts and always wear shoes. I massaged my feet with frozen water bottle, then moved onto a tennis ball,
a baseball, and finally onto a golf ball. I stretch my calf muscles often and use both stairs and a foam roller to stretch calf really good.

I got Super feet inserts(Custom orthotics would work too).
I always wear my tennis shoes. Leave them by your bedside so when you wake up in morning you can put shoes on immediately.

I started massaging my feet(about a year ago) with a frozen water bottle (2-5 mins a foot). At first, the frozen water bottle hurt like crazy, but it gave a good deep massage.

Then when the water bottle didn't hurt too bad I would start with the water bottle then move onto a tennis ball. The tennis ball hurt like crazy(read deep massage) for awhile. Again, it gave a good massage.

Then after the tennis ball didn't get a good massage, I moved onto a baseball. Again painful for awhile but gave a good massage.

When the baseball stopped giving the deep massage that I felt I needed I moved onto a golf ball. I thought the water bottle, tennis ball, and baseball were painful. I was wrong, the golf ball is very painful and precise.
Just like the others, eventually the golf ball massage wasn't painful and I felt like my PF was finally healed.

I stopped massaging consistently for a few weeks(vacation), and the original pain started to return. Keep up with the massaging and stretching and the pain does subside.

Good luck!
