I don't think it will be 8 years.

It is the intent of the Conference to build up the new schools and later use Grant of Rights to re open contract talks. UT/OU despite media reports are very content in the Big 12 and will add at least another decade if it means more money. UT/Ou are big swinging you know whats in Big 12, in SEC and Big 10 they'd be just another school.
