I'm sure some might take it that way but that is in the eye of the beholder.
I think to most it simply celebrates BYU deserving history and product, and current(hopefully) conference affiliation.
I think BYU fans generally are super sensitive due to the unique details of Utah's admittance over BYU. BYU's denial to the PAC most likely involved religious discrimination and that hurts to see other rub it in our faces.
But had Utah never been invited, this wouldn't even be an issue.
BYU displaying a XII logo does not incite and remind folks of religious discrimination so it takes a whole different meaning.
