which was founded by Addison and Randolph Clark. They were both Disciples of Christ pastors, but AddRan College didn't establish a relationship with the DOC until they neared retirement age when they started a seminary (Brite Divinity School) and became AddRan Christian University. After they died, it was briefly run by the DOC and the Brethren were instrumental in moving it to Ft.Worth and changing the name to Texas Christian University, but in 1914, it became a completely separate institution with a separate Board of Trustees. TCU's mission is education, service and doing good works - it remains affiliated with the DOC, but it is an educational institution.
