I'm here in TX and talk with BIG 12 fans frequently and this issue comes it. Everything is so competitive down here, especially when it comes to HS football and recruiting between local schools. It's not something that just thrown out there lightly.

I can only wonder how much influence that has within ADs around the league and if that info is privately being discussed with the presidents. I'm sure - especially for non TX schools - the ADs and even coaches will be making it clear to their presidents the impact of adding another TX mouth to feed and another TX vote into the conference would have on them. Ignoring the data, this reason alone can lead one to believe that UH would never get 8 votes. Ever.
