stands most likely so it won't matter to much. When I went in '06 and '12 in the Student section I was decked out in BYU gear and wasn't afraid to cheer. There were no problems because I was respectful to those around me and didn't talk smack or anything. I had a handful of different groups of people come take pictures with me since I was a lone Cougar in a sea of red and they all loved it.

While I know there are bad experiences, I think overall and on the whole they will be fine with a Cougar fan that is passionate and dedicated to his team. Wear your gear and enjoy the game. It will be worth it.
