Her parents were very well to do and successful, had more opportunities and advantages than the average American white family.
It's like these privileged black people feel like they missed out on what they feel is part of the "black experience" and that being oppression. Nevermind they had every opportunity and privilege any American could ask for... It's like they feel like they missed out NOT being a victim and they've got a lot of making up ground to do. They seem to act like they missed out on being oppressed so now they create it in their minds ironically at a point in their lives where they've reached levels of opportunity/success only .001% ever will.
