My interent is currently 150 mbps. I could cut it in half but its only $10 cheaper...and if we have more than two streaming devices, it can bog down. Plus my wife works from home and needs a reliable fast internet connection for her two VOIP phone lines and two computers she has running and frequently does web ex's on and such. I am probably gone overkill on my speed, but we have the faster speed so that there are no issues when she is working.
I am also paying for for a phone line. I need it for my one daughter still at home who I will not buy a cell phone for yet. ooma is $4.00 per month.
If i wanted to, I could do all of this for 4 TV's in my house and run them all at the same time. As it stands I am only using it on two TV's right now.
So, you can be all Nashty and say you are getting more for less, but if we compare apples to apples, then I think I am getting as much or more for my money.
I will say...i had dish many years ago, but have shied away from satellite providers because you have to lock into two year agreement and I am opposed to such contracts. I hate them with a burning passion in much the same way I hate the U.
