My experience with #BYU50
I live in the Puget Sound area. Yesterday was the State of Washington's turn for #BYU50. Like many others have gone through - I waited patiently all day looking for the tweets. I work up by the Seattle Temple so I was kind of hoping that they would drop one of the boxes there. Well the two boxes were in Eastern Washington and Vancouver. So no boxes for us. (Really? With as many BYU alumni and members living in the Puget Sound we don't rate to get one? Hmmmm.)

So with a bit of a letdown I went home. Later I had a stake meeting so as I am driving to the Stakecenter I am driving past a park and what do I see? Some guy in a royal blue BYU shirt with a big white box with a 'Y' on it. What? I'm thinking to myself - did I miss something? I thought there were only two. So I quickly pull over to the side, park the car and hurry over to where the guy is standing. As I get there - I say something like - "So do I win this?" He laughed and said no. He and his family - including his in-laws were looking for the boxes, but nothing came. So he decided on his own to make up a box, take a picture and put it on Facebook for his family to then find. We had a good laugh about it. He then posted it later after I had left for someone else to claim. Evidently - I got there too early! Otherwise I would have won the surrogate prize.

That was too funny. Driving along and to my surprise seeing a BYU50 box ready to claim. Oh well. Maybe next year. Go Cougs! #SURROGATEBYU50
