Totally agree with you on both points - there is a difference between
"aggressive" which I love, and playing the odds poorly, which we did on both of those plays.

Heaven knows I pleaded for Anae to be more aggressive for years, and less predictable / conservative. I didn't enjoy watching that type of football. For the most part, I prefer to give it our best shot, take a few chances, and let the players be freed up to win it or lose it, or to succeed or fail on the field of battle, and not be constrained by a coach's fear of failure.

However, that doesn't mean throwing all wisdom and caution to the wind, and letting the wave of pure emotion rule. Now, if we were a team of near perfect execution, and proved it repeatedly, then it would be more reasonable to make those calls. But, being human, and capable of mistakes, both calls put all of our eggs in far too risky of a basket, IMO. Not that I'm sure whether they were Ty's calls, or if Taysom had several options with the 2 plays, and went with the ones he did. Doesn't matter though - I love both Taysom and Ty, and will support them no matter what, but those a simply two calls that I regret we made.
