Just took a look at both of the online advisement centers
I will say it looks like BYUI has made some progress from the last time I looked, they have bare bones information for MD & DO applications, but as a comparison, the BYUI shadowing help gives you a link to the 20 Rexburg doctors listed in the yellow pages, so just slightly better than asking google lol.
If there is a kid that is seriously considering going to Med School, I wouldn't steer them to BYUI, BYU does a much better job of supporting the students and helping them to be prepared for the application process which is one of the reasons they are a top 10 feeder for both MD & DO.
BYUI is fine for lots of things, but if you have someone that is med school focused, I would be tempted to send them to a public university if they can't get into BYU if that is what they really want to do, or hope they can transfer after a couple years, but applying direct from BYUI looks like it is tough, I didn't see BYUI in either of the AMCAS or AACOMAS published acceptance figures because the numbers are so small they fall into the "others".
