You never know what will happen in the future - stupid to burn it by handing off
a couple of times! If Taysom got hurt and you needed Tanner to play a lot it's one thing, but save it in your back pocket just in case. So what if he doesn't play in 2018 or 2019, handing off a couple of times in 2016 didn't do anything for him. Every year there are over 40 senior qbs vying for a few draft spots to be on an NFL roster. BYU has only had 1 QB drafted in the last 10 years and he never won a game in his NFL Career (0-7). It would have been nice to have the option in the future! I think once the decision was made to play Tanner you sit Taysom. If you don't redshirt him then play him!
