Thanks for defining rival for me, you sound like a master-debater... BOO.
Fact is that regionally we're automatically rivals being UT vs. ID. I also believe it's 6 times since 2003. Furthermore, it's two teams who A. don't really like each other, and B. are fighting for the same sort of respect being non P5. I think all of our games have been fiery and as a fan, I don't need another fan telling me what a rivalry is. This is a rivalry to me. OTHER: BYU needs rivals, and BSU is a quality team, thus a quality rival and we should welcome the series as that. AND whoever suggested the 'Golden Casserole Trophy' it's a yes for me.
If it's not a rivalry to you, great. But don't define rivalry (with your nose in the air) based on your own, narrow, webster-dictionary translated opinion.
