The decision wasn't the worst thing in the world if you don't trust your offense
to not do something dumb. A penalty or getting tackled in bounds short of the sticks and the game is over. Knowing we had no timeouts, it wasn't a bad idea to kick the field goal. It could have gone either way but if you feel there is a high probability of a sack or Taysom trying to run or a play coming up short of a first or a penalty, you just kick it right there.
As for the him saying he was glad we got two more plays, I am sure he's just saying it worked out that the missed field goal wasn't the end and we had a shot at winning again which was a good thing.

Yeah, we were. It was a 44 yarder. And he had easily just hit a 37 yarder earlier with plenty of leg to spare.
