I have no idea if they'd do that or not, and I'm not predicting they would, I'm just saying that they do not have to take the pac12 championship game loser. When they expanded and went to the two division format they specifically left the language ambiguous in case of a scenario like I described, two bets teams in one division and not have to get stuck with a lower ranked higher loss team just because they made it to the championship game, and lost, because they played in the weaker division.
