of comprehending the offense. Tanner made throws last year, just months into that offensive scheme that Taysom has never made. This scheme is different, but definitely not more complex. This is cover for Taysom (whom I love and respect) and the coaches (whom I love and respect) that were loyal to the 5th year senior who fought back from injury. No way they would kick him to the curb. Tanner won the MVP at the Elite 11 based entirely upon his understanding of the game and his superb decision making - two perfect days back to back. There is no way what Detmer is installing has slowed him down even a little it's far more straight-forward and "by the book" than what Anai was trying to invent. My guess is that Detmer and Mangum are on the sidelines pulling their hair out. I know, I sat in the end zone last game and pulled what I have left out. The coaches made a decision. It was a good decision, but it turned out to be the wrong decision if winning is the standard. Everyone needs to just own it and enjoy what we have. You can't say it's not exciting and it is competitive with any program in the nation. BYU football is a great product. Could have been better this year, but alas. I would just love to have seen Tanner and Jamaal. Tanner would have opened things up even more for him. That could have been special.
